We assist our clients through In-Home Consultations in Northern Michigan and Internet Consultations through-out the US. We also provide Professional Design Services for select commercial clients and can assist with any size project large or small.

Valerie & Steve Smiley are a dynamic husband and wife team, who combined, bring over 45 years of design and business experience for the benefit of their clients.  They work as a cohesive team and are capable of assisting with any decorating and design challenge. Their professionalism and attention to detail sets them apart and provide the utmost in customer service.

Valerie is dedicated to helping her clients create the homes they love. She founded VS Designs in 1992 after extensive experience and work in both Human Resource Management and Administrative Business Management. Her love of color, sewing, fabric, and beautiful things steered her toward a new rewarding career in Interior Design where she can showcase her creative talent. In addition, her extensive business background gives her the strong base she uses in project management and customer service. She is proud of her problem solving abilities and her easy going nature that helps her clients get the interior's they deserve without the stress.

Steve Smiley - Project Manager

Steve has an extensive background in Business & Facility Management. With a BA in Business Administration and over 25 years of professional management experience, Steve has tackled many projects ranging from small remodeling and new construction of expansive office, warehousing, and manufacturing operations.  Steve has been involved in the design & management of many facilities in excess of 1 million square feet. 

Steve's customer service experience adds another layer of professionalism and a new dimension to the VS Designs Team. He will be taking the lead on Commercial activities working with select clients in this new market for VS Designs, Inc. He is anxious to work with you on these types of projects.
